• My Credit Card was declined but I see a debit on my online account, why?
There are 2 steps to charging a card, when you first attempt to charge something on a credit card a \"Authorization\" is sent to the card company in real time. This checks to see if you have enough credit to charge what you want (among other things).

If your card is declined this Authorization attempt will show up on your online and phone banking system. At this point your card is NOT charged but your credit line is reduced by the amount you tried to charge (this is because not all merchants process Credit Cards the moment they are used, these charges are later "Captured" by the merchant.

Regardless these debits to your credit amount will DROP OFF (yes, go away, vanish) after 3-7 business days. If charges that were declined appear on your billing STATEMENT please let us know immediately.
